Bharthi Suresh, is from one of the neighbouring village. She got to know about the surrogacy as a profession from her sister-in-law, who has been a surrogate mother in the past. Bharthi met Dr. Nayna Patel to eliminate her woes and decided to be a surrogate mother too. Bharthi has two children of her own, and she hopes to build a house and invest in the future of kids from the amount she would receive at the end of her service. Bharthi says "My husband is an auto-rickshaw driver, even in our life time, we wouldn't be able to afford this kind of money".

Surrogate mothers live in a hostel like setup in Akansha Hospital and Research Institute. There are approximately 100 women who are currently living here from various parts of Gujarat. The women are provided with lodging and food, with a well-equipped room which has amenities such as TV, air-condition and shared bathrooms.

Women are checked twice and thrice everyday to ensure that the baby and surrogate mother are healthy. Hospital takes care of all the medicine and delivery expenses and also pay for health insurance of women for three years.
